ZOF is an educational app where, as you study, you turn lesson insights into concrete meal plans. You receive an assignment for a case‑study client, create a full‑day meal plan, and continuously track its nutritional metrics. After completing the task, you get a reference solution, commentary, and additional study materials on the topic.
Our courses are currently in preparation. The study system described here is the one we use in our courses. Subscribe to the NutriCourses Newsletter for new articles, practical nutrition insights, and updates when enrolment opens.
ZOF, the Zone of Optimal Functioning, is an educational application designed for creating and evaluating meal plans.
During your studies, you work with specific assignments, compose meal plans for model scenarios, and observe how changes in their composition are reflected in the resulting nutritional parameters.
In this way, ZOF connects information from study lessons with its practical use. The student does not only test memorized information, but above all the ability to apply acquired knowledge to solve a specific situation.
For selected lessons, you will receive a practical assignment in the app that is based on the topic currently being covered. First, you learn the necessary information and then apply it when creating a meal plan.
Practical tasks are not part of every lesson. We include them where they help to better understand the topic and translate new knowledge into concrete practice.
We explain more about the importance of practical tasks in the article v.
Each practical task begins with a specific situation.
The student receives an assignment for a model person, including their body parameters, health status, physical activity, nutrition goal, and other requirements according to which the meal plan is to be composed.
The assignment may focus, for example, on:
The task is therefore not to look for a single universally “correct” dietary regimen, but to create one that matches the needs of a particular person and the conditions of the assignment.
In the app, you work with an extensive food database from which you gradually compose individual dishes and the entire eating plan.
You choose specific foods, their quantities, and methods of preparation, create recipes, and assemble them into individual meals throughout the day. While doing so, you continuously monitor whether the resulting meal plan meets the assignment’s requirements and how individual changes are reflected in its composition.
While creating the meal plan, the application continuously evaluates its properties.
You can monitor, for example:
If you change a food or its amount, you immediately see how this change affected the result.
This is important in teaching because one adjustment often affects multiple parameters at once—for example, increasing the amount of a certain food may help meet one requirement, but at the same time change the energy value, fat content, fiber, or various micronutrients.
The task thus compels you to work with the meal plan as a whole and to monitor how individual adjustments are reflected in its final composition.
Each practical assignment has specified requirements that the resulting meal plan must meet.
While working, you continuously see how the meal plan matches the assignment’s requirements and which parameters still need to be adjusted.
If any parameter does not meet the assignment, you can return to the meal plan, change its composition, and observe the new result.
Work therefore usually does not proceed as “I’ll build a meal plan and submit it,” but rather in several steps:
propose a solution → check the result → adjust it → evaluate again.
This very process is one of the most important parts of practical training.
The sample meal plan with commentary becomes available to the student only after fulfilling the assignment. They can thus compare their own solution with the sample version and also go through commentary that builds on the lesson content and highlights further connections that may not have been immediately apparent during independent work.
If a practical task in ZOF is assigned to a lesson in the course, its completion is part of the requirements needed to complete the course. Creating meal plans is therefore not an optional bonus for students who simply want to try the app.
Your access to the app remains after completing your studies. You can thus later return not only to the unlocked study lessons and counseling history, but also to the tool you worked with in practice during the course.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the excellent knowledge I gained about nutrition. I have always been interested in learning more about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. I searched for a long time for a course that would provide a holistic approach to nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Many courses are short and not comprehensive. This course is more challenging, but it is of high quality and very beneficial. I appreciate that it includes an Eastern perspective on nutrition and human health, such as Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, which I have been interested in for a long time. This certainly won't be the last course I take at ATAC. I primarily took the course for myself, as I have RA and wanted to help myself at least by changing my diet since the doctors are unable to help. I extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Martin Jelínek, who was always able to respond to questions swiftly. I recommend this course to anyone who cares about their health.

As a mother of two kids, since the first pregnancy I have felt constant pressure. I tried to provide as good as possible nutrition habits for me and my family and to lead my kids to healthy lifestyle. Huge amount of books I studied and media “massage”, focused purposefully on future or breast-feeding moms and their conscience, didn′t help me at all. I wasn′t sure of anything and I had real mess in my head. In these courses I understood all information, get wide knowledge, and scope over this issue. However, significant change of thinking occurred. I feel great – not only thanks to losing weight – because I really appreciate that my kids are healthy. After several years of troubles with pneumonia, my kids are absolutely healthy and content – and my family with them. I am really grateful for that to Martin Jelínek. I appreciate his professionalism and his 100%, effort he gave us during the whole course and even after it. Chance of further cooperation is great asset. I am also happy for making new (not only) professional friendships with other students of the course. I want to say thank you for that and I recommend these courses!

Five years ago, I chose the ATAC courses, which had and still have excellent recommendations. Having completed four years of study at the Faculty of Pharmacy, I must say that the information I received during the training was of a high standard. Today, I am fully dedicated to nutritional counseling. In connection with the autoimmune disease I was dealing with at that time, I gained a lot of practical experience, which I try to use along with the theoretical knowledge I acquired through my studies, and I aim to apply all of this in my work with clients. Together with the holistically focused doctor, MUDr. Tereza Feltoni, we founded the Pontina clinic, which serves as a bridge between traditional and holistic medicine, where I work as a nutrition advisor. In 2021, we launched an e-shop called NaturaPura, which is classified among nontoxic e-shops. We focus on super-premium quality dietary supplements without additives, pure foods, nontoxic cosmetics, and cleaning products. Since I live such a lifestyle, I also try to pass on my experiences and insights to my clients. This year, I passed a state examination for nutrition advisors, which I successfully completed. Based on this great experience and also in connection with what I encounter daily in my work, I decided to further my qualifications by studying nutritional therapy. I also expand my knowledge by participating in functional nutrition courses. Diet is a much larger piece of the puzzle composed of lifestyle choices, exercise, circadian rhythms, friendships, family, work, vacation, relaxation, sleep, emotions, with each piece fitting together. Every time we eat, our body receives countless signals that modulate gene expression, hormonal balance, mood, concentration, cognitive functions, immune, and inflammatory response. Diet is not static, but dynamic, and adapts to different situations. A diet is not singular and not forever; diet is a lifestyle.
