Each course has its own workload and specific study requirements, but the core principle remains the same: you progress through the lessons step by step, continuously check your knowledge, work on practical assignments for selected topics, and access support throughout your studies. The entire process leads toward fulfilling all course requirements and earning your certificate.
Our courses are currently in preparation. The study system described here is the one we use in our courses. Subscribe to the NutriCourses Newsletter for new articles, practical nutrition insights, and updates when enrolment opens.
Individual courses differ in length, number of lessons, scope of practical assignments and in how the study is organized. A months-long comprehensive course therefore proceeds differently from a shorter course focused on a single specific topic.
What they share is the underlying principle the study is built on. We don’t present new information as one big block that you have to master all at once. The material is divided into individual lessons, and theory is gradually followed by further learning activities – tests, practical assignments, and the option to consult the topics covered with the instructor.
The specific process differs from course to course, but the basic study principle is similar for all of them:
The first step is to select a course based on what you want to learn and how you intend to use the knowledge.
For some courses, you can choose from multiple study formats – either fully online, where you work mostly independently, or distance learning, where self-study is supplemented with additional instructional activities.
The differences are not only organizational. The formats may have different schedules, scope, or ways of working during the course, so check the specific conditions of your chosen course before enrolling.
If you’re not sure which option is right for you, the dedicated guide Which course should I choose? will help.
After choosing a course, you submit your application and pay the course fee.
Once the payment is received, we create your personal study account and send your login details by email. We create study accounts individually during standard business hours, so you won’t receive access automatically immediately after registration. For example, if you order and pay for a course on Friday evening, we will create your study account on the next business day and you will typically receive your access details on Monday morning.
Once you log in to the study area, everything you need for your studies is in one place.
Lessons are the foundation of the study. Each focuses on a specific topic and forms one part of a larger whole.
The lessons are arranged so that the topics build on each other. Instead of being overwhelmed with a large amount of information at once, you go through the material in smaller, coherent chunks.
The number of lessons, their frequency, and the overall length of the study depend on the specific course. Once a lesson has been released to you, you can return to it anytime. You don’t need to rely on what you remember from the first read-through.
The goal isn’t to “go through the text” only. The individual lessons create the basis for testing, practical assignments, and further work with the topic being covered.
More detailed information about pacing and organization can be found in the article Study Duration and Pace.
Tests are part of the courses. Their task is not only to decide at the end whether you passed or failed. The system includes tests tied to individual lessons and ongoing summary tests that let you verify whether you truly understood the topic and which parts are worth revisiting. At the end of the course, after successfully completing all ongoing tests, there is a final test.
Learn more about how knowledge is assessed during the course in the article Tests and Knowledge Assessment During Studies.
Knowledge of nutrition doesn’t arise just by reading a sufficient amount of information. It’s important to learn how to work with it, which is why the courses include practical assignments appropriate to their focus.
In courses focused on working with meal plans, you use the learning application ZOF, where you solve specific tasks and put insights from individual lessons into practice.
You don’t work only with isolated information about nutrients or foods; you learn to evaluate them in context. When creating a meal plan, you observe how individual decisions affect its overall composition and resulting nutritional parameters, always in relation to the individual’s uniqueness.
Find out more in the articles How we connect theory with practice and Working with Meal Plans in the ZOF App.
Depending on the specific course, you may also encounter other tools and forms of instruction.
One of them is mind maps, which help convert larger amounts of information into a clear structure and capture relationships between concepts. They are not an end in themselves, but they can serve as a tool for processing and revising the material.
In the distance-learning format of the Nutrition and Supplementation Consultant course, regular live training sessions are also part of the study. They take place once a month for four hours and serve to expand on current topics and to facilitate discussion with the instructor.
We explain how to work with maps in more detail in the article Using Mind Maps in Your Studies.
Self-study doesn’t mean you have to find the answer to every question on your own.
The courses include a student advisory forum where you can consult study-related topics with the instructor. If, for example, you don’t understand a principle in a lesson or you’re unsure about its practical use, you can ask a question.
The forum has another function as well – you have access to its history, so you can work with questions asked by other students in the past. The answers to specific situations thus create an additional layer of study content.
Details can be found in the article Student Support During Your Studies.
The courses have a clearly defined structure and conditions, but we understand that work, family, illness, or other time constraints can impact your studies.
If you fall behind the planned pace, the study materials that have already been released to you remain available, and you can return to them.
This topic is discussed in more detail in the articles Study Duration and Pace and When You Need More Time to Study.
Every product with the status of a course has set requirements necessary for successful completion.
They include:
The specific requirements always reflect the nature of the given course. The common rule is simple: a student receives a certificate after meeting all the specified study requirements.
Once you have met all the course requirements, your studies are successfully completed and you will receive a certificate. The certificate confirms that you have completed the course and fulfilled all required study requirements.
Your access to study does not end when the course ends.
After completion, you continue to have access to the released study lessons, the ZOF learning application, and the history of the student advisory forum; access is not time-limited.
This is especially useful when you start using some information later on. You don’t have to try to memorize everything during the course or create your own archive of study materials. You can revisit specific topics later as well.
Imagine a typical part of the study process focused on a specific topic:
You open a new lesson and study its content. Then you use a test to check whether you understood the main principles. If a practical assignment is attached to the topic, you apply your new knowledge while working on a meal plan in the ZOF learning application.
If you encounter a question or are unsure about the context, you use the student advisory forum. You then continue with the next lesson, and the whole process gradually repeats.
At the end of the course, you fulfill all the set requirements, complete the final assessment, and receive a certificate.

I can warmly recommend courses of Martin Jelínek to anybody, who grope or think that he or she “know everything” about healthy nutrition. I was actively studying healthy lifestyle for four years, read books, blogs, tried to follow general advices of medial-known professionals, substitute half of foods with various cocktails… and even today, after graduating the course, I am trying. I wanted to reconcile information, so I decided to participate in the course. When I asked myself: “What did the course give me?” – I found out that I gained many new things. During the first lesson I asked myself: “What am I doing here? It′s not for me. The guy knows so many things.” In the end of course, everything meshed like puzzle. The course offers many ways and it depends on each of us, which of them we choose. I was astonished by every lecture so I was rather quiet, wrote notes, and was surprised that so many things are related to healthy nutrition. Lecturer is very pleasant and talkative man and due to nervousness I couldn′t often find the right words, but his calm attitude and everlasting smile was great. If there were more of such lecturers, there would be more students interested in studies ;-). I recommend you to send an application and look forward to assets that this course can bring to you.

Several years ago, I started getting interested in a healthy lifestyle, and I wanted more information on the subject. I chose a course that, with its length of 6 months, is unparalleled. I enthusiastically began processing topics into mind maps, which are a great aid in studying. As I had the opportunity to see the instructor Martin Jelínek in person every month, he quickly won me over with his approach and enthusiasm for educating and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Initially, and perhaps even towards the end of the course, it may seem that there is a lot of information, but trust that over time, everything will fall into place, and you will discover a comprehensive system that works. Today, I know I made the right choice and highly recommend this course to everyone.

I enrolled in the course with enthusiasm and curiosity, but from the very beginning, I knew it would exceed all my expectations. The knowledge I gained from the half-year course in nutrition and supplementation counseling helped me understand the complex issues of nutrition and became a springboard for my new career path, aiming to work as a healthy nutrition advisor. After completing the course, I was strongly motivated to continue studying, with even more enthusiasm than at the start. I therefore recommend it to everyone looking for a quality source of information and a meticulously designed educational program.
