Dermatitis

```html
Dermatitis is a term used to describe inflammation of the skin. There are several different types of dermatitis that manifest as scaling of the skin, formation of spots on the skin, thickening of the skin cover or color changes, and very frequent itching. They have different causes, most often resulting from various allergies (food, cosmetic - contact with perfumes, chemical - cosmetics, metals, medications...) or an expression of imbalance in the digestive tract (dysbiosis, etc.). In chronic dermatitis, the term "eczema" is used.
In general, stress can worsen the manifestations of dermatitis.
Types of Dermatitis:
- Atopic.
A hereditary disorder that usually manifests in childhood. It most commonly occurs on the face, in the elbow, and knee pits.
- Numular (coin-like).
A chronic condition where round spots appear on the limbs. This disorder can be caused by an allergy to nickel and is often accompanied by dry skin.
- Herpetiform.
A type of dermatitis that is accompanied by itching. It is often associated with disorders of the intestinal tract and the immune system, and can also be triggered by the consumption of dairy products or gluten.
- Seborrheic.
A form of dermatitis that usually affects the skin on the head, where scales (dandruff) form. It is often associated with yeast infection.
- Urticaria.
A highly itchy rash caused by allergens (eggs, strawberries, bee venom, aspirin, animal fur, chemical agents...), or it can also be triggered by excessive stress, heat, or cold.
- Psoriasis.
Referred to as "psoriasis." It is a chronic non-contagious skin disease characterized by localized, reddened, scaly patches, usually covered with whitish or silvery scales. These often appear on the lower and upper limbs (elbows, knees, lumbar and gluteal region), and the scalp. These areas usually do not itch or hurt too much. Nails on the hands and feet may also be affected, often turning yellow. Psoriasis usually appears between the ages of ten and thirty but can flare up at any time. Approximately 15 percent of patients have a rash that is so extensive and severe that it causes significant difficulties and prevents normal life. In about five percent of cases, swelling and joint pain similar to rheumatoid arthritis may occur.
Impact of Diet on Dermatitis
The quality of diet affects the onset and progression of dermatitis, although slightly differently for each type. Since it is a health problem associated with inflammation, the principles of an anti-inflammatory diet are applied to dietary adjustments.
In recent years, it has been shown that maintaining proper diversity of the intestinal microbiota has considerable importance, which is associated mainly with an increased intake of fiber.
It is generally recommended to avoid the most common allergens in foods - dairy and soy products, eggs, sources of gluten, nuts, strawberries, tropical fruits, chocolate...
