As a doctor, I have studied nutrition on a theoretical level several times—first as a medical student and later during the board certifications in internal medicine and sports medicine. However, after completing the "Nutrition for Children" course, I must say that theory and practice are two entirely different things. Thanks to the ZOF educational application, I experienced how challenging it can be to implement theoretical knowledge into practice, such as creating a meal plan for a specific person with predetermined nutritional requirements. The ZOF application provided me with a wealth of information about foods—from their macro and micronutrient composition to understanding energy balance, and specifically, how easy it is to exceed the daily recommended salt intake even when avoiding industrially processed foods. This course made me realize how much room for improvement there is in my own diet, and although I thought I was eating healthily and rationally, there is always room for improvement. I am very grateful to Mr. Jelínek and his team, who are involved in the entire project. Their work makes a lot of sense to me.
