Low-fat diet

A low-fat diet is a dietary plan that limits the intake of fats, particularly saturated fats and cholesterol. This type of diet is often recommended for individuals who have issues with obesity, high blood pressure, or heart diseases. The goal of a low-fat diet is to reduce the risk of these health problems by decreasing the amount of fat that the body consumes and stores.

From a nutritional perspective, it is important to recognize that fats remain an essential part of a healthy diet because they support many bodily functions, including growth and development, and serve as a source of energy. A low-fat diet should therefore be balanced and include healthy fats, such as those found in fish, nuts, and seeds. It is also important to focus on overall calorie intake and the consumption of an adequate amount of protein, fiber, and other important nutrients.

Hello,

What would you generally recommend to people without a gallbladder? I understand that a low-fat diet for life is probably necessary. But are there any supplements and herbs that would be specifically beneficial after gallbladder removal? For example, something to take after meals to support fat metabolism, etc.? Because if an organ is missing, it can affect another, correct?

Thank you in advance for your response.

If an organ is missing, there is always a deviation from metabolic balance, which is certainly true in the absence of a gallbladder. The best possible course of action in this situation is to follow a range of simple rules:
- maintain a stable number of meals per day (3-4),
- lower fat intake,
- avoid spicy foods.
This is an indispensable foundation, and dietary supplements do not have significant importance in this situation.
