Hello,
I would like to know how you evaluate the quality of Nutridrink beverages sold in pharmacies.
Thank you in advance for your response.
I will relate my response to the entire category of liquid meal replacement products. These have their place in the food industry, as the products were initially manufactured to supplement a precisely defined amount of nutrients and energy in specific situations in nutritional therapy (recovery after surgeries or injuries), or as substitute infant nutrition. Over time, they have started being promoted as part of weight reduction diets or sports nutrition, where they do indeed "work," meaning they deliver the promoted effect, but I would hesitate to label them as beneficial. There are primarily two reasons for this:
1. Not entirely ideal quality of some used ingredients (proteins, minerals, vitamins, forms of carbohydrates),
2. Their liquid form - regular or long-term consumption of liquid food is not ideal for the optimal functioning of the digestive tract.
Practice shows that for part of the population, it is very tempting to replace quality (i.e., natural) food with these nutritionally balanced but significantly processed products, without considering the consequences. However, do not perceive this as criticism, but rather as a "sigh" over the lack of nutritional literacy among people.
