I would like to ask how skinfold thickness is measured.
The thickness of skinfolds is measured using calipers, specifically two types - the Best type or the Harpenden type (they differ in the shape of the contact surfaces and the different pressure applied to the measured skinfold). Measurements are conducted at precisely defined locations on the body (above the bicep, above the tricep, on the thigh, below the shoulder blade, above the iliac crest). The thickness is measured in millimeters, and the prerequisite for accurate measurement is the correct method of pulling out the skinfold, which requires professional training and a certain level of practice.
