Nutri Courses

Advisory

Hello,
I would like to ask for your opinion regarding omega-3 supplementation from algae versus fish. Algae seem more environmentally friendly to me, slightly more expensive but not dramatically so.

When selecting an appropriate omega-3 supplement, consider not only its source and the content of substances that stabilize the structure of fatty acids (= antioxidant substances) but also the ratios of key fatty acids (DHA, EPA, or possibly DPA), which determine the product's effectiveness. Each O3 source contains a different ratio of these FAs, so try to view products comprehensively; one factor should not be decisive when making a choice.

Given the increasing interest in plant-based diets, it's logical that a significant portion of the population will, for ethical reasons, prefer algae-based products, which (fortunately) have their quality.
