Hello,
is it possible for the use of lecithin as a dietary supplement to affect the efficacy of hormonal contraception?
Thank you.
Theoretically, yes, although the literature does not typically mention it. A higher intake of lecithin is responsible for the deposition of phospholipid complexes into cell membranes, which affects their permeability. This notably improves the function of the liver, among other things, where the breakdown of these hormones occurs, resulting in a change in their effectiveness.
