Cordyceps

Cordyceps (Chinese caterpillar fungus) is a type of parasitic fungus that grows on the larvae (caterpillars) of the ghost moth. This fungus attacks live larvae, feeding on them. From the body of the caterpillar, a fruiting body of the fungus gradually grows on a long stalk (10 - 15 cm), which is manually harvested and processed into teas or supplements. In traditional Chinese medicine, cordyceps has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. It is known for its adaptogenic properties, meaning it helps the body better cope with stress and fatigue. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and may support heart and respiratory system health. It has the ability to enhance the vitality of the body, a property that is widely utilized by athletes.

Hello,
does Cordyceps also contain beta-glucans? Can people with autoimmune diseases take Cordyceps?
Thank you.

Cordyceps is a relatively significant source of beta-1,3/1,6 D-glucans. Autoimmune diseases are mostly treated by inhibiting the immune system, therefore it is not advisable to stimulate immunity with any preparations, including beta glucans.
