Chondroitin

Chondroitin is a naturally occurring substance in the human body that is a component of cartilage. It is an element that helps maintain their elasticity and strength by helping bind water and keeping the cartilage hydrated and resistant to pressure. In nutrition, it is used as a dietary supplement, especially for people suffering from osteoarthritis or other disorders associated with cartilage wear and tear. It is also popular among athletes. Chondroitin is often combined with other substances, most commonly with glucosamine, to enhance the effectiveness of the products.

Good day Mr. Jelínek,
do you recommend taking boswellia along with chondroitin and glucosamine supplements? Do they have synergistic effects or quite the opposite?

In the case of this combination, it is not so much about a synergistic effect, but rather a complementary one - the main effect of boswellic acid is its positive impact on reducing inflammation, which is beneficial for the nutrition of joint and connective tissue as a supplement to the nutritional effects of chondroprotectives. This combination is therefore advantageous, which is why many supplement manufacturers are keen to use it.

Mgr. Martin Jelínek has been systematically involved in nutrition education since 1999. He is the founder of ATAC, the educational company behind NutriCourses, and the author of an educational system focused on nutrition, healthy lifestyle, and the practical application of nutrition knowledge.

He graduated from the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University in Brno. Throughout his professional career, he has combined nutrition, education, and the practical application of acquired knowledge. His educational system also includes the ZOF (Zone of Optimal Functioning) learning application, where students turn theory into practical work with meal plans.

In 2007, he launched the first intake of a six-month course focused on the education of nutrition advisors. Over time, this course became the foundation for the further development of the educational system and a range of specialised courses.
