Basal metabolism

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the amount of energy the body consumes in a resting state to maintain basic life functions such as breathing, blood circulation, body temperature regulation, cell growth, and repairs. This value is individual and is influenced by factors such as age, gender, body weight, and muscle mass. BMR is the largest single consumer of energy in the body, accounting for approximately 60-75% of total daily energy expenditure. Knowing one's BMR value helps determine how many calories a person should consume daily to maintain their desired body weight.

Hello Mr. Jelínek,

Could you please recommend a program, application, or website where I can calculate basal metabolism, energy intake, and the weight of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats? Thank you.

The BMR value is most accurately measured by bioimpedance devices, as their algorithm works with currently measured body parameter values. Another option is available, for example, on our website - https://www.kurzyatac.cz/kalkulacka/bmr. You can work with nutritional values directly in the ZOF app - www.zofapp.cz.

Hello,
What does the abbreviation BMR stand for? BM means basal metabolism, but I don't know the second part.
Thank you for your response.

BM is the Czech abbreviation for "Basal Metabolism," BMR is the internationally recognized term for the same, derived from the English "Basal Metabolic Rate."
